Yep, you're correct there are three generations of Yamaha Stage Customs as it's a very popular model because of it's price point(they are also the replacement for Yamaha's old Rock tour and Rock tour custom lines in the 1990's).
Here's some of the badges i've seen used on them, in no particular order: Stage custom advantage(outer ply of Birch, [gloss finishes] six plies of Philippine Mahogany, and an inner ply of Falkata): Yamaha Stage Custom Noveau(Same shell as Advantage with either oak or birch outer ply depending on finish, and with noveau lugs): Yamaha Stage Custom Birch(0 birch shell): Oops, sorry about that Tom.
From what I've heard other people say about older Stage Customs, I think mine are either birch/mahogany or birch/mahogany/falkata.
